The Petrol Remote Control Car

On this web page, we hope to provide information, hints and tips on the petrol remote control car and the aim of the website is to discuss 1/5 scale rc cars in general. In addition to providing information on petrol remote control car features in particular, we will look for the best deals from the best petrol remote control car suppliers for you too.

Petrol Remote Control Car

Petrol remote control cars have engines that are powered by petrol or, as they say in America, gasoline. These remote or radio-controlled cars are also known as "fuelies" or "gassers". Unlike a nitro radio controlled car, the petrol remote control car runs on a mix of normal unleaded petrol and 2 stroke oil, just like lawn mowers and most scooters.

Both of these fuels are available from any petrol station which makes them more practical and far cheaper to run than a nitro model.

Mixing the petrol and oil is very easy too. You only have to fill up a petrol can with 5 litres of unleaded petrol at the petrol station and pour in 125ml of two stroke oil. This oil is usually found inside petrol stations with the normal engine oils.

They are the top of the range machines and often come in 1/5 scale gas cars these days. However, this means that they usually cost a lot more (often up to $1,000–$3,000 ready to run or RTR) than nitro and electric cars.

Also, because they are so much larger, they need much more space to run around in. However, they are invariably all-terrain vehicles, so space is not usually a problem.

To many people's surprise, however, despite their size and powerful engines, the 1/5 scale petrol remote control car does not usually have a high top end speed, compared to nitro and some electric cars that is, but has lots of power and does not take a lot of fuel to run. They can, however, build up higher speeds on the straights, because of their transmission units. Traction is better too.

This leads to the anomaly that over a fairly short period of time, the cost of a 1/5 petrol remote control car, including running costs, can actually work out cheaper than some of the nitro-powered vehicles, predominantly because of the high cost of nitro fuel and the high cost cost of replacing the far less sturdy nitro engines with new ones when they are worn out.

Furthermore, the 1/5 scale petrol remote control car rarely, if ever, requires retuning and has a very long lifespan due to its rugged construction.

The large 1:5 scale petrol remote control car has been very popular in Europe since before the turn of the millennium and is catching on quickly in the United States.
